Parent Seminar Resources

GMAC have been delivering the NAS Managing Anger and Sensory Parent Seminars since 2014. The sessions are usually delivered face to face by two experienced parent facilitators, but due to the pandemic we are now moving these online. Once we are allowed to resume face to face content, we will of course be doing so, but we plan to continue to offer the online versions as well.
As we have never done this before we would love to hear your feedback on how these are working so please do fill in the surveys below each part.

The sessions are split into 2 parts. First please watch the seminar slides. These have been recorded by our parent facilitators and are split into segments to make it a little easier to listen. Each seminar lasts around 1 hour. The seminars are usually delivered over around 4 hours which obviously is not appropriate for an online course so we are trying to make them manageable chunks.

After that we are offering groups of 4/5 parents an online webinar via MS Teams facilitated by the parent facilitators. The idea is that in those sessions parents can ask questions about the workshop seminars and also take part in group activities with other parents. Those sessions will be approximately one and a half hours long, once all sensory needs / managing anger seminar videos have been watched, please complete the seminar evaluation survey where there is an option to join the accompanying webinar.
Once you have completed the online seminar, (Managing Anger/ Sensory or both) if interested in joining the webinar please see below documents for additional technical support when accessing and navigating Microsoft Teams:

There are PDFs that can be downloaded for each of the seminars below and if you take part in the webinars you may want to either print off the PDF to write down notes for the exercises or use the word version of the booklets to complete things online. Please note, the webinar sessions are only available to parents and not to professionals or students as we feel it is important that this is space for parent to talk to each other. Of course if you are both a parent and a professional that is fine.
